HOW ARE EMBLEMS PRICED?



There are four main factors that determine price. They are size, quantity, number of colors, and percentage of embroidery.

The size of the emblem is determined by adding the length of the patch and the width of the patch, and dividing the sum by two. By this formula, a 3" circle, a 4" X 2" rectangle, and a 5" by 1" rectangle would all be classified as 3" emblems.

Emblems can be ordered in whatever amount you need; however, there are price breaks determined by quantity. These breaks occur at 50, 100, 200, 300, 500, 1,000, 2000, 3,000, and 5,000 pieces. Additional price breaks are available for higher amounts.

Each patch design comes with up to and including nine colors of standard rayon thread. If more colors are needed, they are available for a nominal charge per color. Specialty threads, such as metallic, glow-in-the-dark, and UV threads are also available; however they do carry a surcharge.

All embroidered emblems are stitched on a background material. Typically, this material is cotton twill; felt is also available. The amount of stitching on that background determines the percentage of embroidery, and is a factor considered in pricing.



HOW ARE PINS PRICED?



The main factors that determine the price of a pin are size, type, backing, and quantity. 

The size of a pin is determined by the longest dimension. A pin that is 2" X 1/2" would have the same basic price as a pin that is 2" X 2".

Pin types include enamel filled, offset printed, and solid metal. Enamel pins are made by applying enamel colors into channels in the metal base to create your design. With enamel filled pins, you get the first four colors at one price, and additional colors are available for a nominal charge. Offset printed pins utilize computer generated art which is placed on the base, and then protected with a clear epoxy dome cap. There is no limit to the number of colors used on offset printed pins. Solid metal pins are produced without any color other than the metal color. Gold, silver, and copper are the most common of colors, and they are available in different finishes.

Pins can be made with different backings. The most common backing is a butterfly clutch (also know as a military clutch); a less common backing is with a safety pin. The pins can also be made with a bolo backing (cordage is included); or as a medal with a metal loop that allows it to hang from a ribbon. 

As with emblems, there are several price breaks based on quantity. The more you order, the less the unit price becomes.





After placing my order, when will I receive my merchandise?



Once the actual manufacturing of the emblems begin, we typically ship them to you in four to five weeks. When needed, rush orders are available for a minimal surcharge. Once we are ready to ship you your emblems, you may then chose what level of UPS shipping is required.

The manufacturing process for pins requires a little more time. Please allow an additional week for your pin order. This is particularly critical when ordering both pins and emblems. Plan your time schedule on the pins; not the emblems.

WHAT KIND OF ARTWORK SHOULD I SUBMIT?



At Sunshine Emblem & Decal, Inc., we can work with camera-ready art, hand sketched drawings, scans of existing emblems, or verbal descriptions. As long as you can tell us or show us what you need, we can turn your concept into an outstanding product. Acceptable file formats: We prefer AI, PDF, and EPS files converted to curves for PC not MAC. JPG, TIF, & GIF must be no lower than 300 DPI.



Is there a charge for artwork?



If Sunshine Emblem & Decal, Inc. is producing your order, there is no charge for art work. This includes whatever changes are necessary to make it right for you. While it is our policy not to charge for artwork, any artwork that is generated without being placed as an order is subject to an hourly fee.



Will you make any design I submit?



Sunshine Emblem & Decal, Inc. is committed to the principle of proprietary artistic ownership. If your design calls for a trademark that belongs to someone else, you must provide written permission in order to use that trademark. The same applies for proprietary words that are copyright protected (Olympics®, for example). We will not produce anything that is or might be considered to be offensive.
